Comprehensive Outline

Major Project Comprehensive Outline

Im currently focusing on bold saturated colours made into eye-catching images with a pop art cogitations.
Im using Irfan View which is a basic photoshop style program using the "colour corrections" tool i have been
experimenting with enhancing and saturating the colours. I split the images into quarters and swapped the colours of these pieces then simply using the
cut and paste tool stuck the images back together. I found that although the pieces are just one image by
changing sections of colours it gives it a montage effect and abstracted feel.
Although my work is photographs of graffiti i found in the streets of hobart so in a way i am using other
peoples works to create my own. I feel that i have manipulated the original photographs and incorporated
a visual distinctiveness that makes them quite different from there origins.
I enjoy working with bright and cheery colours and in this project i didn't want to include any sort of allegory or hidden meaning.
I want people to view this series as a fun, visually appealing piece with modern pop culture elements.
I want to have in total 6 or 8 images in the form of 2D prints to be displayed in a grid.
Im currently thinking about using some kind of boarder or frame to tie it all together.
Perhaps using images of brick work to bring back that atmosphere of street art and graffiti.

independent project ideas

Im thinking that my project will be in the form of 2D prints...i have decided to work strongly with with bold and saturated colours. The theme i have decided on so far is graffiti but im planning on abstracting the images so they are not so recognisable. These are just some draft and experiments that i have been working on. I plan to create around 10 images.

this image was of some graffiti i found in an alleyway off centrepoint. Using a photoshop like program i have increased the contrast and colour saturation of the image and used a fisheye lense to warp the picture

This was a section of wall that caught my eye because it was very busy and bursting with colour. I have saturated and increased the contrast of this image so it has take an almost animated form.

For this image i used a tool in my editing program to kind of swirl the picture...the big thing in the middle was originally an eye but i like the way it has changed form and now looks kind of like an evil packman character.
